Make it Last!!

At my WW meeting on Saturday the leader asked what we can't live without during the holidays. My response was the Starbucks Cranberry Bliss Bar. That is the most mouth watering desert I have had, and every year I pad myself with some extra insulation with them. This year I had been staying away so far. Then the leader suggested making it last, and take it in. So, I did.

This afternoon it took me 1 HOUR to eat it. I took small bites and enjoyed it. And, I still have points left for a sensible dinner and some veggies! Oh that bar was blissful and I might even allow myself one more before the season is over.

Weigh In

25 lbs!!! Gone from my body forever!

I weighed in at 147.6lbs today and have lost 25.6lbs since the end of June 2007! I am so proud of myself and feel great about it!!

Weigh In

Today was weigh in day! I don't look forward to them quite as much, as I am seeing less movement.

Current weight: 149.6

I am starting to work more activity and exercise into my life. Also, my sister has started the same journey and we are sharing a lot of ideas and supporting each other. It does help to have a partner in crime! I feel like the last 15lbs will be the toughest to loose. I just have to hang in there and remember even 2/10 of a lb is still a loss!

I was down two more pounds when I weighed in today. Good, but not great. It is not great because it has been 3 weeks since I weighed in, so it is a little more slow going now. I absolutely have to start adding more activity and exercise to my day.

Splenda!

I have discovered Splenda packets!! I already knew about splenda and try to buy products with Splenda when possible.

Did you know they make mocha flavored Splenda! And it is oh so good in coffee!! They also make vanilla and hazelnut!

Exercise!

I did it, I took advantage of a hotel workout room. I have never done that! I always take clothes, but always have an excuse. I did 20 minutes on the elliptical machine and it felt good. I felt like I was in good shape, even though I haven't been doing a great job with working out lately.

Another small victory is I made good choices for dinner tonight and prepared for breakfast tomorrow. I am traveling for business right now and opted to run to the grocery store rather than go out to a restaurant. Go ME!!!

No Weigh In

Due to traveling I did not weigh in this past Saturday and will not be weighing in next Saturday. However, I have been keeping track of my weight at home. I prefer to hold off on posting my official weight until I weigh in again.

I am doing good, struggling a little lately, feel like I hit a wall. I HAVE to pick up on my exercise. I got the Dance Revolution Hottest Party for our Wii. It comes with the mat on the floor to dance on (yes, like what kids do at arcades!). I am very excited to start using that as a form or exercise! I also need to move my hand weights downstairs and do some weight work during commercials when watching my shows. I figure Mon and Thurs are my two tv nights and if I start doing a little on each of those nights it is better then nothing!

Wii

Yes, Nintendo Wii is now a staple in our house. Why you may ask? Well, I had heard what great exercise it could be, and mentioned that to Jason at one point and he brought it up again, and we bought one. Last night Jason and I golfed. You have to use a real golf swing. We both had sore shoulders the next day. Tonight we boxed (no, not with real gloves, and no, not hitting each other!!). If you get your feet into it too you can really get a good workout in. I had to move the furniture and Jason got mad cause I kept getting to close to the tv, like if I got closer I would hit the other guy better or something!!

It has gotten Jason and I both off the couch in the evenings for awhile and I think will be my main exercise each day (other then walking up and down the stairs 5M times each evening). There is a Dance Revolution game I would like to get, and Nintendo is coming out with the Wii Fit in January 2008. There are also a couple fun kids games we can get for Trinity.

Weigh In

Today was my weekly Saturday morning 7:00am weigh in (yes, 7:00am).

Current Weight: 151.8

I gained .8lbs this week. In my mind that is nothing. I can definitely say I expected to stay the same or gain. I have struggled lately with cravings and missing foods. Also, last week was a long week with work, I was tired and kinda emotional, so eating was an easy fix to blank time at work and not wanting to do anything, so fill the time with eating. Why not, huh??

I am hoping to push that re-start button and keep going.

Cute Old Navy Halloween shirts!

This might sound silly, but I have always wanted to buy one of those cute little Old Navy Halloween shirts. But, they are just that, LITTLE!! Last Halloween I got Trinity one there, and tried on a large. It was a bit small. Well, today, I bought one, in Medium!!

MY FIRST CUTE LITTLE OLD NAVY HALLOWEEN SHIRT!!

Now I just have to find somewhere to wear it too!!

Also, I have always admired tight fitting sweaters with tight fitting long sleeved shirts under the sweater. I bought those today too, at Old Navy of course, and yes, in Medium!!

It is these small victories that keep me going.

Weigh In

I am a little late posting about my recent weigh in, sorry. I missed last weekend because we were in Portland for the weekend. So, I weighed in on October 6 after two weeks, and I was down another 3lbs!

Current Weight: 151lbs!

I am feeling great. I have found some great new meal ideas and absolutely love Trader Joes!! I even figured out how to make myself an omlette! I am loving garden veggie egg beaters!

Size 10??

What is that??

I now know, it is a size pants that I can wear!! Maybe not in all styles quite yet, but in the jeans I just bought. Okay, so they will be my skinny jeans, but I can wear them and they fit. I bought 3 pairs of work slacks in size 12, which I also have not heard of in a long time! I was so proud of myself. I also told myself nothing else until I can wear size 8. We will see how long the size 12s last, I might need a couple belts as I go through the size 10 stage, but I decided I cannot afford to buy a new wardrobe every month or so!

My new challenge is to get a workout routine going. Even if it is just 20 min of some hand weights or something, I gotta start with something. This will require my loving husband to help get my butt out of bed!

This week I went to Las Vegas for business, so at the beginning of the week I was a little nervous. I didn't keep track of my points but just made smart decisions, and sure enough I lost!

I DID IT!!!

I made it to my first major goal in my weight loss journey!! Weight Watchers sets your first goal for you. Your first goal is to loose 10% of your starting weight. My starting weight was 173lbs, my first goal was to loose 17lbs. I weighed in today and I weighed:

156 lbs!!

I am so excited and so proud of myself! You get a very cool key chain from Weight Watchers to remind you of this significant accomplishment. I know it may sound cheesey, but they also recognize you at your meeting and give you the key chain and for some reason I had been hungry for that recognition. I had hoped to meet this goal Labor Day weekend, and here I am only 2 weeks later meeting that goal! WOOHOO!!

I know these two pictures it is not really easy to tell, but there is a 30lb difference between the two pictures. I am so proud of my accomplishment. When I looked at the picture of myself from Trinity's first birthday I was embarassed, I don't think I realized how much I weighed and how I really looked. I love looking at the picture from Trinity's second birthday party!!

Weigh In

Today was a great day!!

Stats:
Current Weight: 157.6
Total Lost: 15.8

I am just barely over a pound from reaching my first 10% goal!! It feels great!! I also lost a point, so now my alloted daily points is 21.

I wanted to share a great breakfast I discovered today!! 2 Boca sausage patties and 1/2 cup of egg beaters. It tasted good, was filling and was only a total of 3 points!

Non-scale Victories

Non-scale victories are the small daily victories in a weight loss journey that have nothing to do with what the scale says, and often make me feel better then the lower numbers. I have a victory to share.

The last two days I have put on button up blouses that were always just shirts to wear under a suit jacket. The reason: they stretched at the buttons and could only be worn with decency under a jacket!! NOW: they are button up blouses I can wear with any slacks, and DO NOT have to cover with a suit jacket!! And, they both almost look too large on me!!!

I was so nervous about this weigh in, afraid I would have gained again. I was so relieved to step on that scale!

I really need to improve my water intake and find a way to get more activity points. I know with moving stuff into our house and putting stuff away this week, I should earn good points!

August 11, 2007 Weigh In

Stats:
Current Weight: 161.6
Starting Weight: 173 (official WW starting point)

So, I gained .4lb. To me, that just means I stayed the same! I expected either no loss or a small gain, I was pleasently surprised at the size of the gain.

Goals for the coming week:
1. Concentrate on earning activity points
2. drink lots of water

I hope to reach my 10% goal by Labor Day, that is 5 lbs away.

Challenges: Stress

Wow, this week has been so stressful! I have been battling my need to eat all week. Well, I guess not my need, but my WANT! I have only gone 1 or 2 points over a couple times this week. WW gives me 35 extra points each week. I have always tried very hard to not use any, to really make this work. This week I used a couple here and there. I have had strong urges for bad for me food, but I have been very good!

I definitely learned I used to be one to eat to solve my problems. Before I would have walked across the street from my office and got a sweet. Now, I don't have anywhere to walk too!! But also, I worked through the urge!

Let's hope my will power to stick it out is obvious with tomorrow morning's Weigh In.

Weight In

Today was my 5th meeting, thought I have been at it longer then that. I have missed meetings here and there, so it was officially my 5th Weight In.

DRUMROLL PLEASE.....

Stats:
Current Weight: 161lbs!!!!
Lost: 12 lbs (since my first weight in!)

At the meeting today I got my second 5lb sticker. I am only 5lbs from my 10% goal!! I can't wait to get out of the 160s!!!

For my birthday my mom got me a gift card for Alderwood Mall. I went shopping this evening and got two skirts and two tops. I was so excited to find two skirts that looked good on me!

Great Milestone!!

I didn't WI this weekend because we were in Portland visiting friends. But, I have a great milestone to share!

I went shopping on Saturday with my friend. My pants I was wearing for the last couple years were size 16. I was recently able to start wearing some of my size 14 again. On Saturday, I tried on a size 12 just for the heck of it! They fit, and even felt loose in the waist!! I was so excited!! It is moments like this that keep me going and give me the will power to continue this journey.

A little Catch Up

I will try to keep posting here at least once a week, but will make a bigger effort to do it more.

My current stats:

7/21/07 Weigh In: 165lbs!!
- 8lbs (since first meeting, but -10 since signing up on line)

I am feeling so good! My favorite thing is being able to look in a window when walking by, and liking what I see!

One of my big challenges right now is drinking more watter and I need to start taking a multi vitamin and look into the cost of a pedometer to count my steps. I am trying to walk to offices when I have a question, and not just e-mail someone!

I will miss weigh in this week because we are headed to Portland, but will try to post throughout next week.

OH, and definitely need some new clothes!! My pants are looking horrible!

And lastly, I want to throw out there for anyone reading, just eating good portions and healthier food can make a difference. Last summer I decided to start to make a difference. I started eating better. I looked at pictures of me with my daughter at her first birthday party and I didn't like what I saw. At that point I was 196lbs. I have lost 30 lbs in a year, and only 10 have been on WW. So just making smarter decisions, I slowly lost 20 lbs over 12 months.

Week Two: Days 1-2

The weekend away was great. I did a GREAT job!! And the scale at home is supporting that!!

I did my best to order healthy things off of menus, and ate a lot of veggies and seafood! Saturday morning I ordered a veggie omelet that was to die for, but only ate half of it! I did a very good job leaving parts of my food, and not eating it all!

We did a lot of walking on the beach, etc., so got some good exercise too.

I must say, I expected a big challenge, but feel good about how I did. I even tried new drinks to keep my drinks healthier too!

Week One: Day Seven (Weight In)

Stats
WI: 170lbs
+/-: -3lbs
Exercise: 30 minute walk, down to beach and back.

WOOHOO!! I had my second WI today! I have lost 3 lbs since my first meeting. I have to add a note here though. I started tracking points a week before my first meeting, and according to the scale at home was 175lbs at that point. So, I am going to brag for a moment and jump up and down, because I have actually lost 5lbs since I started this!

I went to WI in a day early this week because Jason and I are leaving today for a weekend away to celebrate our anniversary. I am assuming I will come back to share some challenges!! Also, again, I walked today alone, even though my mom wasn't walking. Walked to ferry dock and back.

Oh and now that I am at a new weight, I have also lost 1 point a day. I am now allowed 23 points, instead of 24.

Week One: Day Six

Today was somewhat uneventful! I did not walk, decided to take the day off and had things to get done today.

I stayed within my points, and felt good. Waited a little too long for dinner, but was lucky I had a WW Chicken frozen meal in the freezer to eat. I have to say, their frozen meals are actually pretty good!

WI is tomorrow.

Week One: Day Five

Exercise: 45 minute walk to water front and back!

My mom was not walking today, but I did awesome! I still went and walked on my own! I have been allowing myself a sugar free vanilla tall latte each day for my coffee. I walked all the way to the water front coffee shop today, instead of just to Starbucks!

I also did a great job with my points. I didn't go over, even after Jason cooked me two burritos, only ate one.

Goal: I need to pick up my water intake.

Week One: Day Three

It's Monday! I am off work for the next two weeks and plan to walk with my mom every morning to the Post Office and back.

Exercise: 30 min moderate intensity walk

The walk felt great! It is down hill there and uphill back! So get some great muscle workout!

Also, went to lunch today at a restaurant with my mom and grandma. I feel like I did good ordering a meal that didn't use a ton of points. A Thai Chicken wrap and salad on the side. Mistake: Should have ordered dressing on the side. I will have to remind myself to do that next time.

Today I did not get enough water. But, got a treat! I had a couple points left, so got ice cream!

Week One: Day Two

Today was a bit of a challenge. I did good all day, until we took Trinity to the race track. I get 24 points a day, and 35 flex points for the week. I had already decided to maybe treat myself today to a few flex points.

At the race track I got a drink, rum and diet coke (2 points), then I was a little hungry, so told Jason we could maybe split something, nachos or something. He brings back a hotdog for himseld and hands me a tray of nachos. I was like, NO! I can't eat all these (well, I could, but not now!). So, I controlled myself, ate one or two here and there and made him eat some! Then, we were going to move on, and we left the rest there. I was good, I only ate 7-8 chips total! What a waste of money though to buy them all, then leave most of them. Oh well!

Then, we decided to order pizza. Again, I had planned to treat myself a little, so was okay with pizza. Well, I was saved by a horrible P-Zone from Pizza Hut (so not worth the money!). So, only ate the insides, and saved myself way too many points!

I ENDED ONLY 1 POINT OVER!!! SO THE DAY ENDED BETTER THEN I THOUGHT IT WOULD!

Week One: First Meeting

Stats: 173 lbs

Today was my first meeting and first official weight in. I have to add, I am now weighing 25 lbs less then when I started my journey to loose weight last summer.

The meeting was interesting and motivating. I saw people that were reaching all kinds of weight loss goals, and it definitely showed me I could do it. They start by setting your first goal at 10% of your current weight. My first goal will be to loose 17 pounds.
